Writers on The Simpsons seem to have an uncanny ability to predict the future. Roughly 19 years ago, an episode predicted that Donald Trump would become a US president, but this wasn't the only prediction they made.
Another episode from two years ago predicted a major plot twist in the last season of Game of Thrones. But don't worry, there's no spoilers here.
For over 27 years, The Simpsons has been creating new episodes and making wild predictions that become a reality. Are they time travelers? Probably not, but that doesn't make their abilities any less cool. Here are some of the wildest predictions the writers were able to make since the show launched in 1989.
Season 2, Episode 4 - Three-eyed Fish
In this old school episode from 1990, Bart managed to catch a three-eyed fish named Blinky from a river next to the power plant.
Over a decade later, a three-eyed fish was discovered in Argentina, in a reservoir that contained run off from a nuclear power plant.
Season 2, Episode 9 - Censorship of Michelangelo's David
In this 1990 episode, residents of Springfield protested against the Michelangelo's David statue, calling it obscene because of its nudity.
In 2016, citizens of Russia voted on whether to put clothes on a copy of a Renaissance statue that was located in the center of St. Petersburg.
