Kitten Rescued From Storm Drain In Cupertino

Authorities in the San Francisco Bay Area recently rescued a 6-week-old kitten from a storm drain.

A woman was walking in Cupertino and heard meowing off in the distance. She went to investigate and found a small kitten at the bottom of a storm drain on Tuesday, May 21. The woman notified authorities who responded quickly to the scene.

The Santa Clara sheriff’s office says firefighters from the San Jose Fire Department lifted the heavy grate off the drain, and a deputy went down in to rescue the kitten, who was an orange and white calico.

The kitten was examined and fed by a local animal shelter, and will be held there until they can find a loving home for the little ball of fur.
