A man from Florida named Andrew Levy was feeling generous when he decided to pay the total outstanding lunch debt for all the schools in the Jupiter area of Florida.
WPEC reported that the total bill cost the man just under $950, which, according to the man, is a small price to make in order to make a big difference.
Levy learned that there were over 400 kids in his area that could not get a full meal in their school cafeterias and he figured he had to do something about it.
Levy said “these children that were in debt were going to either not eat or they would get just cheese sandwiches and I thought ‘that’s crazy.'”
The man has no obligation, personal connection, or expected return for doing this random act of kindness. Levy made a post about his act on Facebook, and received a big response from users of the social media platform.
Many people inquired about how they could help donate to the cause next time, and before long his post had caught the attention of many people throughout the whole county.
Levy has made it a goal to do a GoFundMe or equivalent fundraising page every quarter to raise money in order to help pay off student lunch debts more frequently.
